UK Ocean Energy 2019 Review
The UK Ocean Energy 2019 Review outlines the progress made in wave and tidal technologies, markets and policy in the UK last year. The report praises 2019 a year of growth for the UK ocean energy sector, with several projects in the water and thousands of MWh of electricity produced.
The report presents numerous innovative cross-border collaborations, deployment of state-of-the-art projects and offshore tests that were undertaken in the UK, mostly supported by Research & Development.
To further progress the sector, the report calls for a dedicated policy and revenue support for ocean energy in order to deliver significant sustainable economic benefits and contribute towards achieving the UK’s net-zero target.
The report was produced by the Policy and Innovation Group at University of Edinburgh in collaboration with Wave Energy Scotland.
